A Religion Welcoming to All

We stand on the side of love

UU congregations welcome bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgender (BGLT) people and their families who enjoy our open, honest, and caring community.

We’re guided by our first principle that respects “the inherent worth and dignity of every person”. That applies equally to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

We do this intentionally with a Welcoming Congregation program that affirms that we are inclusive and accepting.

We openly ordain gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

We’re committed to protecting the legal and civil rights of BGLT folks and families.

We’re on the forefront of the same sex marriage debate and we advocate for each person to marry the partner of his or her choice.

We’ve been advocating for the rights of BGLT persons for over thirty years. This is what we do... this is who we are... as a religious people.
